Thermochromic materials are microcapsules that change color reversibly with temperature. The core contents of thermochromic microcapsule are leuco-dye, color developers and temperature controllers. By formulated with different temperature controllers, thermochromic products come in various activation temperatures. When the temperature is raised to a specified temperature, it goes from colored to colorless. It returns to the original color as the temperature cools down. The applications are endless and range from babyspoons, pasta- and eggtimers to radiator- and coffee caps.
